My wife and I arrived in downtown Lakeland for the first time looking for a nice place for dinner and to celebrate. My wife walked inside to order a Lynche Martini, the bar tender said we can sit outside and some would come take our order. While sitting enjoying the view, a dark haired male waiter walked out. We attempted to place an order and he stated we could not sit here ( outside ) in the seats pictured. He stated there was a wait for these seats. We kindly got up and went next door. We sat and observed the seats we were seating in that were supposedly taken. As if this message, 45 minutes have gone by and no has been seated there yet. We understand if there was a wait, obviously there was no one waiting to be seated outside. I am also bothered that he did not offer any alternatives or options that would potentially accommodate us. As a matter of fact he do not say hello or welcome us. This was obviously influenced by the fact that we are African American. We are now 67 minutes into observing the area and no one has been seated there yet. This made us feel unwelcomed and ruined the moment. First time here. Upon arriving even though we had a reservation and arrived early, we were seated about 35 minutes later. We were told there was an error with the reservations systems so can’t blame technology, was still upsetting to wait. The food comes in waves and they tell you that, so some plates came out pretty fast. We tried a variety of plates since some are small. The best was the pork belly, the shrimp skewer was dry and chewy. There was lack of sauce on some even though the description would make them sound like they would be more flavorful. The dumplings have a different taste but I do enjoy new things so it was ok. I really enjoyed the ramen, I think it was on point. The broth on the udon was tasty as well. For dessert the matcha cake was really different but sweet and perfect. The manager clay went above and beyond to make sure our experience was enjoyable since he knew we had waited a long time to be seated. He was a great host and made the visit worth it. The main complain really was the high chairs we were seated on, with my sciatica it was a painful seating, but live and learn I’ll request a both next time.

We went for dinner this weekend and couldn’t have had a better experience. The staff was attentive, genuinely kind, and clearly takes pride in what they do. The atmosphere is calming and moody in the best way, and the design honestly looks like something out of a magazine - such a beautiful space to dine in. Even the details like the glassware and plates were well thought out and elevated the whole experience. Everything was also spotless and well maintained. We ordered a variety of small plates, which made it really fun to share and try new things. Standouts: - Wagyu skewer — cooked perfectly, melted in your mouth - Potato salad — 100/10… I even asked for the recipe (they said no 😂) - Onsen egg with gohan rice — simple but so flavorful. The egg added the perfect richness and would be a great addition to any of the dishes - Japanese elote corn skewer — great flavor, perfect small bite - Koji Caesar salad — I’m picky about Caesar salads, and this is easily my new favorite. The dressing-to-lettuce ratio was spot on, and the toasted crushed croutons took it over the top *chefs kiss*! - Pork belly skewer — 🔥 absolutely delicious - The Poka Poka Margarita and KoDomine Fizz were both

This has easily become our favorite dining destination in Lakeland. From the inventive menu to the seamless service, it delivers a consistently high-quality experience. The Food The chef here has a remarkable talent for balancing complex flavors and textures. Every dish feels thoughtful and creative. * Small Plates: The Wagyu Tartar is a highlight, especially paired with their incredibly *crispy* wonton chips. The dumplings are another must-order, particularly during happy hour. * Entrees: The Abura Soba is a rich umami experience with a surprising (but welcome) crunch from the croutons. * The Burger: For those looking for comfort food, the burger is top-tier. It is perfectly cooked and served on a toasted bun with melty cheese and a fried egg. It’s gonna be messy, but it’s worth it I promise. Service & Atmosphere We typically prefer sitting at the bar, where the service is attentive and engaging. The staff is knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and proactively checking in—even giving us a "last call" heads-up so we don’t miss the end of happy hour. If you’re looking for a true dining experience, this place is it. We ordered about 8 shareable plates, plus dessert, a cocktail, and a mocktail, and honestly, every single thing was amazing. The quality of the food was outstanding, everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The vibe is just as impressive. It’s modern, intimate, and gives you that elevated, almost “big city” dining feel right here in Lakeland, Florida. Between the ambiance (Dj Jules), the drinks, the outstanding food, and the amazing staff this is a full culinary experience, not just dinner! Congrats!
